Fresh harvest is rolling in and we are so grateful for the abundance of local produce which inspires all of our Seasonal Flavor offerings. As such, sooooo many of our seasonal favorites are BACK and available. It's that wonderful time of year when cucumbers are BACK on the produce scene, enabling us to make small batches of our savory and zesty Garlicky Sour Pickles! We use only local cucumbers and brine them with our house-made pickling spices, wild-foraged tannins, and Celtic Sea Salt. These will only be available for a season, so enjoy them now while the gettin' is good. And get some Pickle Juice, too, while you are at it. Hands down, my favorite Pickle Juice of the year. So refreshing and replenishing like nothing you've ever experienced.


Some of our most popular WINTER flavors are back! Stock up on Fire Cider Kraut, Winter Roots Kraut, and Turnip the Beet Kraut while supplies last. All of these pair well with the heavier foods that are typically eaten in the wintertime such as hearty stews, root veggies and meats. Of course, and as we've mentioned before, one of our favorite ways to enjoy our krauts are simply by topping our salads with them, or just putting them on the side of whatever we are eating. The dates reflected on the stickers on our product lids are actually Best Buy dates, not expiration dates. The reason is that Fermented foods generally don’t spoil, except in rare cases in which case you’d see fuzzy mold, just as you often see with non-fermented foods in general. Instead of spoiling, they just continue to ferment over time, which can make them less crisp but doesn’t render them “bad”. Over time, they can also accumulate CO2 (bubbles!) which can make the lids puffy and sometimes even bubble the product out of the jar. If your jars of fermented foods get fizzy and make the lids puffy, just burp the jars from time to time to allow the CO2 to escape, maybe over a bowl to save the juices (yummy!).
