Last day for delivery, May 31st

Dear Old Church Creamery customers,

Please be aware that next week will be the last time we accept orders for dissemination of our product through Fall Line Farms. Your last delivery for any order you place with us will be on May 31st. We are so grateful to the Co-op for hosting us all these years...and especially appreciative for your devoted business.

Our decision to cease sales through Fall Line was based solely on the logistical challenge we face each week managing the production and distribution of our products via this means. It conflicts with other demands we have for the same time and day.

Please know that you can find our products at numerous locations in the Richmond area...as well as at our Creamery Store located at 8098 Shady Grove Rd in Mechanicsville. Again, thank you for supporting us all these years!

Warm Regards,
The Long Family

Some of the cows of the Old Church Creamery

Brownie, our matriarch with baby Jersey Some of the Jersey girls out on pasture.

Here are some of the cows which we think are so special at the Old Church Creamery. You will notice that they are all Jersey. This is a special breed of cow which comes from the Island of Jersey off the coast of Great Britain. Jerseys are known for loving the outdoors (as opposed to sitting in barns). They are the most heat tolerant breed, therefore you can expect to see them out on pastures, even on a hot summer day in central Virginia.

Jerseys also have high butterfat, so their milk is rich and creamy. Our All-Jersey milk tests out at above five percent butterfat. Also Jersey milk has 13 percent more protein and 16 percent more calcium than typical milk.

Because our cows are out on pasture, they have milk which both delicious and very healthy. I will write you more in a later blog about the benefits of grassfed milk.

Enjoy!
